Football NSW needed to develop a Facilities Strategy to set the long term vision and plan to grow, develop and promote facilities to support football at all levels. In addition Football NSW required a series of 'guides' to provide best practice advice to associations and clubs as to how to develop their facilities.
MI Associates worked with Football NSW to develop a Facilities Strategy which identified the key challenges faced by football in NSW. It provided direction to grow the capability within the football community to develop football facilities and a standard approach to facility development providing increased benefits for local communities. In addition to the Strategy, MI Associates developed a series of guides to provide a standardised best practice approach to building development, procurement, project management and the appointment and management of suppliers.
The Facilities Strategy was endorsed and adopted by Football NSW and has been successfully used to support the funding submissions and investment into facility development projects. The guides have also been used to assist with reducing the delivery risk associated with these types of projects.
