Hunter Sports & Entertainment Precinct
Hunter Development Corporation (HDC) on behalf of Venues NSW required assistance to develop a strategic business case and updated Precinct Master Plan to assist with a request for $800 million State Government funding. Hunter Park is a sporting precinct with a 33,000 seat Stadium, 10,000 seat Entertainment Centre and Aquatic Centre surrounded by significant commercial, residential and mixed-use developments.
MI Associates conducted four strategic workshops with key internal stakeholders to assist in developing the vision, objectives, concept plan options, case for change narrative, the benefits and risks associated with each option. MI Associates then managed all key stakeholders, including the cost planners, engineers and architect, in the development of the concept Master Plan. MI Associates conducted a Cost Benefit Analysis and Financial Appraisal for the selected options to understand what the preferred option would be submitted to NSW Treasury. MI Associates developed an articulate and compelling business case.
The Strategic Business Case was successfully submitted to NSW Treasury in November 2018 and is currently under review through the Infrastructure NSW Gateway process.
