Planning & Delivery
Japan Rugby 2019 Organising Committee (JR2019) required the development of a comprehensive planning framework to assist in planning the delivery of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
MI undertook extensive consultation with JR2019 to develop a roadmap, master schedule and client services plan, to streamline the scoping and planning activities associated with delivery of a Rugby World Cup. The roadmap provided a one-page visual representation of the key phases and planning activities in advance of the tournament, providing a consistent planning tool for view for all Rugby World Cup stakeholders, ensuring an integrated approach to planning and delivery can be achieved. MI Associates also delivered a series of “Day in the life” seminars to assist the Organising Committee to better identify and understand client service needs and services to be delivered for the Tournament.
The final roadmap and master schedule has enabled the Organising Committee to develop coordinated and integrated planning processes across all stakeholders. In addition, through the MI seminars, the Organising Committee has better defined their overall budget requirements for the Tournament. After this work, MI was brought on to fulfil the Executive Director – Planning role through to the completion of the tournament.
