OUR SECTORS

At MI, we regard ourselves as a world leading Sport, Arts & Culture and Tourism consultancy. Our business focuses on these three core sectors.

Sport

MI was founded over 19 years ago after the successful completion of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

We built our business with Sport as the foundation sector and we continue to work with clients active in the business of sport in Australia and around the globe whether they be government, corporations, sporting organisations or associations.

MI has been involved in every Summer Olympic Games since 2000 and every Rugby World Cup since 2003 either through host city bidding or planning capacity.

Arts & Culture

MI is the preferred consultancy in the Arts & Culture sector.

We are currently working with government, museums, galleries, theatres and other cultural institutions across the country.

MI has worked extensively with the Sydney Opera House, including developing the all-important Renewal Framework that laid the case for funding the staged renewal of the House over the next decade.

We also provided the operational and commercial model for the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.

Tourism

With major events so closely entwined with tourism development, our tourism experience was built from of our foundation in sport.

MI is a specialist in Tourism consultancy working with government, tourism and event organisations.

MI has recently delivered the Northern Territory Aboriginal Tourism Strategy 2030 and understand the immense opportunity for authentic Aboriginal tourism experiences throughout Australia.

We understand the Cruise shipping industry, developing the Cruise Strategy for Destination NSW that resulted in increased focus on developing the cruise shipping infrastructure in regional NSW.

Our knowledge and experience is also particularly strong in business events, having recently delivered a 2018 MICE Review of Australia’s business event market for the City of Sydney, as well as delivering a 2017 Regional Business Events Strategy for Destination NSW that has resulted in continued support for the industry through a Regional Business Events branch.

We assist our clients in achieving their tourism and visitor economy objectives through events, tourism infrastructure and strategic planning.
