Destination NSW required a Regional NSW Business Conference Strategy to improve capability and capacity within the sector and drive growth of the Regional visitor economy for NSW.
MI Associates developed the overall Strategy through extensive consultation with government and industry including a review of the existing facilities within NSW. In addition, utilising MI Associates research capabilities, an assessment of the market and trends of the Regional NSW business events sector was undertaken. The development of regional profiles and future funding requirements was also completed to support the Strategy.
In August 2017 the NSW Deputy Premier and NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events announced the implementation of the NSW Regional Conferencing Strategy and Action Plan. The resulting Strategy will assist in bringing more conferences and visitors to Regional NSW, and in turn boost local economies and create more jobs in regional areas.
