Royal Botanic Gardens
The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust required a Strategic Review of its event and venue management function in order to improve the net operating surplus so the Trust’s horticultural, scientific and educational services could be adequately funded.
The Review provided a comprehensive analysis of the existing business practices along with recommendations to improve and strengthen ties to the NSW State Plan and the Royal Botanic Gardens Trust Strategy. The Review involved analysis of existing performance data, research of venue management approaches and benchmarking in similar organisations, a review of the operational management structure, project management practices, procurement and financial practices. It also included a comprehensive stakeholder consultation process, including the design, distribution and assessment of client feedback surveys and an assessment of the potential gaps in current venue hire and venue management services, delivery methods, contract and risk management.
The Review has enabled the merge and restructure of the Venue Management function with the Moore Park Trust Venue Management Team which has created efficiencies and improvements of business policies and practices.
