Strategic Business Case

Feasibility & Business Cases

CLIENT NEED

Taronga Conservation Society Australia (Taronga) required assistance to develop a strategic business case for a $60 million upgrade to its wildlife hospital facilities, with a view to ultimately seeking funding from public and private sources. The project was expected to increase admissions to the zoo and also drive economic benefits through biosecurity, training and education, and priority programs such as wildlife conservation.

MI SOLUTION

MI commenced work with Taronga to develop the vision and options for consideration. MI then held a number of strategic workshops with key internal stakeholders to assist in developing the objectives, concept plan options, case for change narrative and the benefits and risks associated with each option. MI conducted a Cost Benefit Analysis and Financial Appraisal for the selected options to understand what the preferred option would be. MI developed an articulate and compelling business case for the development of new Wildlife Hospital facilities.

CLIENT OUTCOME

The Strategic Business Case was successfully submitted to Taronga to present to potential funders in December 2018. It is currently awaiting funding consideration.
