Boasting a 20+ year career in environmental consultancy, Ali has developed a wide range of skills while serving a broad spectrum of government and private clients. Possessing strong practical experience within a wide range of industries including sustainable development, renewable energy, oil & gas, events, financial services and HR, Ali is tenacious in securing customer loyalty and forging strong relationships with external business partners.

Prior to MIGP, Ali was the Sustainable Business Officer at North Sydney Council where she championed and managed the Better Business Partnership (BBP) and CitySwitch Programs for North Sydney LGA. Working directly with businesses, commercial building owners and business precincts, Ali assisted in improving their sustainability performance using these engagement, accreditation and recognition programs.

Previous to this, she was the Sustainability Consultant at GreenShoot Pacific, a specialist sustainability consultancy providing strategic services, systems, solutions and training. Working across numerous industries including sport, events and facilities, their key focus was on identifying resource efficiencies to minimise negative impacts and facilitate sustainable growth. Here, Ali provided performance measurement, analysis and reporting enabling her clients to credibly communicate their performance and ongoing commitment to positive social and environmental outcomes.

Ali was also the Sustainability Event Operations Manager (Sydney) at SailGP where in 2020, the event set a new standard as the first climate positive sports and entertainment property and began delivering actions and innovations to advance the global adoption of clean energy.

Other roles held include Waste Educator with Northern Beaches Council, Consultant at Marine Resources Recruitment, National Training & Education Manager at Yachting Australia, Sustainability Officer at Clean Up Australia and Business Engagement & Sustainability Officer at Plastic Free Manly.

Ali keeps busy spending time with her young family and enjoys being outdoors and gardening, along with volunteering at local environmental community groups running beach cleans to help emphasise the impact of litter on the marine environment. Outside of work and family, Ali’s great passion is sailing, and she spends most of her spare time competing nationally and internationally in this sport.
