Danny is a senior researcher with extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and has over 15 years of consumer insights, branding, and strategy experience. He has consulted organisations in sports, non-profit, media, education, technology and healthcare sectors.

Danny has advised the top national sports governing bodies in Australia and overseas, including the NRL, Cricket Australia, Football Australia, New Zealand Rugby, Australian Sports Commission and Hong Kong Sports Institute. Since graduating from a master's in the science of well-being, he has a deep passion for applying scientific approaches to quantify the social impact of sports, places and events.

Recent achievements include:

  • Delivered a comprehensive feasibility study for establishing a new professional NBL team, including detailed insights into the operational costs, potential revenues, economic benefits and key risks.

  • Led a youth mental health research report for ‘R U OK?’ to inform a new mental health awareness campaign targeted at young people.

  • Strategic research lead for Football Australia, managing all fan and commercial research and special projects.

  • Developed sport-wide fan segmentation models for Cricket Australia and New Zealand Rugby.

  • Led a corporate reputation study for MTR Corp in Hong Kong and tested key messages most effective in rebuilding its reputation.

  • Developed a quantitative assessment tool for Animals Asia Foundation to measure the social impact of its animal therapy programs and conducted a research study to understand people’s attitudes toward dogs.

Prior to joining MI, Danny was a Senior Manager for The Gemba Group delivering strategy and consumer insights projects to sporting rights holders, sponsors and government organisations.

Danny is passionate about advocating for mental health and well-being. Along with two UPenn classmates, they formed a nonprofit called Positive Sports Education, aimed at transforming youth sports by integrating well-being education. The program supports Sports Coaches to assess and build resilience in their players, recognise character strengths, and create a positive winning culture.
