Darren is a Senior Intelligence Expert and Qualified Professional Researcher (QPR) with over 14 years’ experience in business and audience intelligence across sports, entertainment, tourism and finance.
With a combination of human behavioural expertise and business acumen, Darren has an exceptional understanding of the link between audiences and commercials. He has assisted numerous international, national and state sports, entertainment, tourism, government, council and business organisations in developing critical business intelligence to support strategic decision making.
Since joining MI in November 2019, Darren has been Project Lead for multiple event strategy and evaluations for Tourism and Events Queensland, NT Major Events Company, South Australian Tourism Commission, City of Perth, Dubbo Regional Council, International Association of Horticultural Producers and Upper Hutt Valley (New Zealand).
He has also delivered strategic research and advisory services for VenuesWest, NSW Office of Sport, Rugby Australia, Basketball NSW, Singapore Sports Hub, State of Qatar, Te Papa Museum, Nitro World Games, Police Citizens Youth Club and Adelaide Convention Centre.
Prior to MI, Darren led the research, insight and strategy functions at Allianz Australia, Nielsen Sport (formerly Repucom), 10 Thousand Feet Strategic Market Research and TEG (owner of Ticketek) with notable specialties in delivering psychographic audience segmentation, data modelling and technology integration.
Darren is a keen sports fanatic and Ice Hockey player. Having grown up in Queensland, he loves the ocean and wildlife. He is the busy father of energetic twins and is passionate about exploring the world with new experiences.
