Darren is a Sports and Entertainment Expert and Qualified Professional Researcher (QPR) with over 15 years’ experience in linking audiences to engagement across events, sport and place.

He has assisted international, national and local sports, entertainment, tourism, government, council and business organisations in developing intelligence to support strategic decision making by integrating his skills and knowledge across strategy, research and commercials.

 

Since joining MIGP in November 2019, Darren has been trusted to deliver strategy, research and commercial services for NSW Office of Sport, Infrastructure Tasmania, VenuesWest, Venues Canberra, Singapore Sports Hub, Adelaide Convention Centre, Rugby Australia, Football Australia, NSW Rugby, Basketball NSW, Police Citizens Youth Club, State of Qatar and Te Papa Museum.

 

Darren has also led the delivery of strategic research, modelling and evaluation studies for event and place organisations including Tourism and Events Queensland, NT Major Events Company, South Australian Tourism Commission, City of Perth, Dubbo Regional Council, International Association of Horticultural Producers, Upper Hutt Valley (New Zealand) and Nitro World Circus.

 

Prior to MIGP, Darren led the strategy, research and insight functions at Nielsen Sport (formerly Repucom), TEG (Parent of Ticketek), Allianz Australia and 10 Thousand Feet Strategic Market Research.

Darren is a keen sports and music enthusiast with a passion for protecting the ocean and wildlife across the world. He loves to travel, experience new cultures and be involved in community activities. Now the busy father of twins he is focused about maximising social, economic and environmental legacy impacts that sport and music can bring for our next generation.”
