Marketing Manager
As an accomplished marketing, brand and sponsorship professional, Kate has more than 20 years of experience across sport, tourism, major events, venues and corporate sectors. She is highly experienced in brand marketing, sponsorship strategy, event management, stakeholder engagement, communications, digital marketing and partnership activation, having worked with some of Australia's leading sporting organisations, global brands and major event destinations.
As the Marketing Manager at MI, she is responsible for the delivery of marketing, brand, communication, digital, events, sponsorship, PR and campaign activation. Prior to MI, Kate was the Marketing & Communications Partner at Transmax, leading communications, customer engagement and brand initiatives, while delivering rebranding projects and events.
Kate spent eight years leading marketing and brand functions for the Cairns Convention Centre and Darwin Convention Centre, where she was responsible for strategic marketing, communications, brand development, digital marketing, public relations and stakeholder engagement. She successfully launched new venue brands, delivered national and international tourism and business events marketing campaigns, and strengthened the profile of both venues as leading conference and events destinations.
Kate previously worked for MI Global Partners, working on major international sporting projects including the Doha 2020 Olympic Bid and the Rugby World Cup Delivery Guides.
Kate has also held senior sponsorship and brand roles with Samsung Electronics, Nestlé MILO and the Australian Paralympic Committee. At Samsung, she managed a sponsorship, ambassador and media programs and integrated global partnerships, including Olympic-related programs, into the Australian market. At Nestlé, she led the iconic MILO sponsorship and events portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, delivering large-scale activation campaigns and partnerships. She also managed sponsorship and marketing programs for the Australian Paralympic Committee, helping to elevate the Paralympic brand and partner engagement across Australia.
Her sport and events experience also includes the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, the City of Melbourne's major event sponsorship program and mass participation events with USM Events.
