Associate Principal


Ryan is an Associate Principal at MI with significant experience across all Venues, Events and Advisory services provided to the Sports and Tourism sectors. Throughout his career he has amassed a proven track record of success in business case development, business plans, economic and financial modelling, feasibility assessments, commercial strategy, management reporting, sports advisory consulting, event evaluations and event strategy.

He is extremely knowledgeable at assisting private and government organisations make informed commercial decisions through analysis and evidence-based strategic recommendations. Ryan has delivered compelling business cases for multiple Government agencies across projects ranging from $10 million in tourism infrastructure to an $800 million urban renewal project.


Throughout his time at MI, Ryan has delivered major event feasibility studies for a number of prominent sporting organisations such as World Rugby, Rugby Australia and Football Australia – assessing and projecting the benefits of hosting major events to assist the organisations with Government funding applications.


He has managed the business case for the redevelopment of the proposed Hunter Sport & Entertainment precinct ($1.6b), a second motor racing circuit in Bathurst ($130m) and a new Wildlife Hospital at Taronga Zoo ($65m). Ryan has also developed a State-wide facility strategy for Tennis NSW.


Other successes include developing the facility strategy, business plan and feasibility assessment for the Nick Kyrgios Foundation and a commercial model for an Automotive Destination ($230m) in Regional Victoria.

Prior to joining MI, Ryan was the Account Director and Strategy Consultant for Nielsen Sports where he was responsible for delivering commercial advice to sporting rights holders, broadcasters, commercial brands and government organisations. He was also the Lead Analyst for HBF, where he delivered analytical services that fortified the funds financial sustainability.


Ryan is kept very busy with two small children and is an avid sports fan. He’s currently awaiting the next Premiership win for the West Coast Eagles.
